+Sorenson + Wade Names new General Manager
Bryson Despain has been named the new General Manager of Sorenson + Wade Advertising. In that capacity he will oversee all of the operations of the agency including the administration, creative, public relations, client services, and production departments. He has experience in managing advertising and marketing departments over the last 13 years in industries such as nonprofit, pharmaceuticals, broadcasting, snow sports, automotive, real estate, and entertainment. While serving as the Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at United Way of Salt Lake, he was instrumental in launching the national “Live United” campaign, which received numerous awards. Bryson has vast experience in writing and producing video content, developing key messaging, and has an eye for great design and expertise in public relations.
Erik Sorenson has assumed the position of chairman of the board.
Born and raised in Farmington Utah, Erik has been in the marketing and advertising business since 1998. While attending Brigham Young University, Erik began his career in advertising starting as the Classified Ad Director for the Daily Herald Newspaper and then for the Valley Press in Palmdale, California. He returned to Salt Lake City in 2002 and began working for Citadel Broadcasting. In 2003, he opened his first ad agency and did over $18 million in business before selling the agency.
In 2009, Erik entered a partnership with long-time clients, Stephen and CJ Wade, called Sorenson + Wade Advertising. During the past 10 years, Erik has served on various community boards, charitable foundations and organizations. Last year, he took 7 trips to Haiti, beginning immediately after the earthquake to help in the relief effort. In addition, he has worked accounts such as the FBI, USAF, Kia, Utah Association of Realtors, Gold’s Gym, the Stephen Wade Auto- motive Group, Ashley Furniture and more. He is the father of 4 and currently resides in St. George, Utah.
